York Region is developing a Sustainability Strategy to provide a long-term framework for making smarter decisions about growth and the integration of our economy, environment and community.

As part of the Strategy, York Region is developing a Master Plan for water and wastewater servicing. To aid in evaluating alternatives, draft criteria have been developed based on a number of guiding principles. The draft criteria and principles are stated below.
